Breaking Bread Food Pantry

Matthew 25:35-36

For I was hungry and ye gave me food; I was thirsty and ye gave me drink; and I was a stranger and ye took me in; I was naked and ye clothed me; I was sick and you visited me; I was in prison and you came to me.

The Mission statement and vision of Breaking Bread Food Pantry, a subsidiary of A New Walk, Inc.: To reach out to the poor, the homeless and the addicted in the Gainesville/Hall County area.

Our goal is:

To help provide food for every recovery program in this area free of charge.

To treat all people with dignity, integrity and respect, so that they can see Christ in us.

To work together to achieve God's purposes to lead people to faith in Jesus Christ.

To show others God's love by providing for their physical, emotional and spiritual needs.

We hand out 44 boxes of food each week touching 92 lives. We also partner to help several other ministries on a weekly basis. These ministries are:

Hickory Grove CME Church - They feed aproximatly 30 families a week.

Waypoint Regeneration Center - 17 men in a drug and alcohol recovery program with 8 staff members.

More Than Enough Ministries - They hand out 40-50 boxes of food each week.

Veterans and Community Outreach and C.C. Cloud Youth Center - Provide an after school program that feeds 16 Children, 13 teen mothers with a combined total of 9 children and 12-15 walk-in veterans weekly.

We also support several Individual ministries that support shut-ins and fixed income older families. Christmas of 2008 we helped feed 396 people who would not have had Christmas Dinner.

Beacuse of todays economy there is a greater number of families in need. We have to turn people away almost daily due to lack of provisions. We are willing to do much more but we need your help.

It's amazing what a little, inner city church with less than 100 members can do. We've had people come to fill the need for food and stay to fill the need for Jesus. Each family that we have to turn away breaks our hearts.

We Need your help and support to be able to bless in larger numbers. Many people support missions, and Gainesville is the mission field that God has called us to. Your gift would help provide food for a family that would otherwise have to go hungry.
